Gaming System

The gaming system in Kisandria is primarily freeform. This means that no system overall is required for gaming. Because of my own knowledge of D&D, a great many of the statistics on this site may be in D&D terms, but by no means does this mean you must know the faintest scrap of that system, or any other, to play in Kisandria. If all that are playing together agree on how they propose to use them, dice rolls may be used, however, it's suggested they be limited in how much they are used for resolution, and instead, use freeforming skills for resolving.

The exception to this freeform is Personal Charisma. This system is currently under development, and primarily applies to leaders of groups, such as army officers, at least in its current version.
Character approvals are required for all characters in Kisandria. Quite frankly, I don't care in the least if you've been playing that character for the past fifteen years. You must still get it approved before you may play it. That means you write a complete character sheet up, and send it to kisandria@telus.net. If necessary, I'll write back to you, requesting additional information. Then, I'll send back to you an email detailing which characters (you can send in more than one writeup at a time) are approved and which are not. So long as you're not asking to play a 50th level (each!) MU/Bard/Paladin/Barbarian/Rogue/Cleric half Grey Elf, half Cthulu character, well, I'll usually approve it. After that, you're pretty much free and clear, except for if you either a) abuse the character, or I find out that you've lied about what s/he can do, or b) the character improves in power to a significant degree.
The flavour of Kisandria differs from others rooms by and large in that its focus is on groups and large-scale RP. While this does not mean that you must join a group, it does mean that you'll likely not have a large impact on the IC world without doing so. That's one of the reasons the average power level in the room is not nearly as high as you'll find in other rooms. When characters join together, they find their power grows immensely. All groups, like characters, must be applied for, to the same address.

Another major difference between Kisandria and other rooms, is that there is no central location per se. Since Kisandria itself is a continent with multiple kingdoms, the room is not centered around one single city, or one single tavern/inn/etc. This complements the large-scale roleplaying basis, as it's difficult to pull off wars inside cities (except small-scale gang wars) without causing an awful lot of property damage.
Kisandria is global roleplay friendly. We like the idea of getting everyone together in a single overarching story arc. If you have an idea that you think is good, send it in. Send it now. No, do not wait. Do not pass go, do not collect two hundred dollars. (Well, okay, but only if you need it for the postage.) We may not use it now, we may not use it next month, or we might use it a modified version... but whether we use it or not, you'll have contributed to the room... and we'll keep that in mind.
