Personal Charisma

What Personal Charisma is: Personal Charisma, or PC, is a numeric pool of points. These represent a person's innate ability to lead, intimidate, persuade, and such. They are primarily used on NPCs, but may have some effects on PCs.

Getting PC Points: Starting amount of Personal Charisma is set by the character approver. So, unapproved characters have no Personal Charisma. Experience Points (XP) may be spent on Personal Charisma to increase the pool from the starting amount. Each XP can purchase five points of PC, which go into a general pool for that character.

Using PC Points: PC points can simply sit unused. There is no requirement to use them in any special way. However, additional benefits can be derived by specializing points of PC. One of these areas is Leadership.

Leadership: PC can be dedicated into Leadership, and for each point dedicated into it, two Follower points are gained. Each point of general PC also garners one Follower point. A character can lead a number of followers equal to their total Follower point pool, and be fairly sure of their loyalty. The trick is that Leadership points cannot be converted back into general PC. Once transferred, they are permanent. Exceeding the maximum number of followers is possible, but lowers the general loyalty of the followers.

Example: Let's take a small army. Say it's divided into squads. Four troops and a sergeant to a squad. That sergeant likely has at least four Follower points, from some mix of Leadership and Personal Charisma. Thus, he can command his troops and they'll obey. If the sergeant had less than four Follower points, he might command his troops, but they're more likely to break during battle, to desert the army, etcetera. So, let's say that this army has one hundred troops, including all the sergeants, lieutenants, etcetera. If the general in charge of the whole thing has one hundred or more Follower points, he can command the entire army easily, and they'll be highly loyal, bound by multiple levels of Follower points. That is the kind of army that is said to be willing to follow its general through the gates of Hell. Say the general has a mere five Follower points. As long as he has five or less Lieutenants directly under him, he can still loyally command them, and if they have enough Follower points for those under them, they can loyally command them, and so on down the line. That's a more regular set-up for an army.

Requirements: The character approval staffer will set the initial PC point pool for the character when it is approved, although one is allowed to request a certain number of PC to start with. It is required that any XP to be spent on PC is registered by an email with the host, as well as any specialization of the PC. This is so a central registry exists that can be consulted if there is confusion, or if point numbers are forgotten by muns.
