Staff Responsibilities

Being a staff is not always easy, especially if your job isn't clear. This is supposed to make it clear, and lay out the expectations for staff, both so they're aware of them, and so chatters are.

- Host Level
The Host is the one in charge. He's the final court of appeal in all matters, unless it's an IMC site level matter, in which case, the SysOps and Site Staff are. He is in charge of character applications, and approval of all aspects of submissions, of groups, new locations, etcetera.

- Cohost Level
The Cohost(s) deserve at least as much respect as the Host. They act as the Host, in his absence, and can only be overruled either by the Host, or themselves. Generally, they only overrule themselves when they realize they've made a mistake, ie, someone points out that the rules page actually says this, not that. We're all human. Mostly.

- Staff Level
Make no mistake, Staff are the mainstay gummied people of the room. They're primarily responsible for making sure roleplay is going smoothly, as this post has the highest numbers and the most presence. They're also expected to contribute to discussions on the message board, create new 'stuff' for the room while it is in a developmental stage, and just act in general like pillars of the community.

- Assistant Staff Level
Assistant Staff are expected to do exactly that. Assist. If staff are not present, they serve an analogous role as to what the cohosts do to the host. That is, they act as staff. This group serves the same role as staff, although perhaps with a little less visibility, perhaps they're not around as often, or they simply don't want as much responsibility. They're still expected to contribute both to the developing room, the message board, etcetera.

- Support Level
This group isn't quite staff per se. Support gummis are handed out by the whim of the Host, essentially, as recognition awards. If a chatter is exceptionally involved in the room, they might merit one of these. Generally speaking, the Host does not give these out often, or only on his own opinion. He generally likes to have candidates for this recommended by the staff, or other chatters.

- Chatter Level
It might seem odd, that chatters are on the staff responsibility list. But, really, what's the point of having staff, even a room, if people don't use it? Thus, chatters are staff, in a way. They should make up the majority of the room. They have two responsibilities, primarily. The first, is to actually use the room. If they don't, well, they're automatically not chatters here, eh? The second, is to tell someone if they have a problem. Do not complain about a problem unless you've first asked one of the staff about it. If you don't tell them about it, how are they supposed to do anything about it?

Go home.
